What is my IP
WhatIsMyIP is a small utility intended for home internet users, who want to know their public IP address. You need to know your public IP address in order to access your home computer via the internet from outside your home.
This application periodically contacts the www.whatismyip.com website to determine the IP address. When it detects, that the IP address has changed, it can perform a configurable action, like sending an email to someone. This is especially useful for people who are hosting a domain on their home computer.
What is my IP main window.
The application runs in the background and is accessible through a system tray icon. When the IP address has changed, it shows a tool tip (see picture). On top of that, the application can run any user configured program as a respons to IP change. See the manual for details on how to configure this.
System tray icon and notification.
If I find the time, I plan to implement this program also as Windows service. The added value of this would be that the user will need not to be logged in to the system to run the application.
